The Kanabec History Center offers many educational opportunities from
programs designed specifically for children to
workshops for adults, to
folk art demonstrations, speakers, slide presentations and music. The Center maintains an
active presence in the community. Check out
our Events schedule for this year’s
activities. Below is a listing of current workshops, and more information about TIMELINE offered during the school year and Old Tyme Country School offered during the Summer.
Beading Group to Meet Thursday Evening May 8 at the Kanabec History Center 7 p.m. Come network with other beaders, work on projects and learn from each other. Come have some fun and meet people with an interest in making beaded jewelry. No Charge!! Lead by Maria DeMarco Learn to Make Beaded Jewelry with Dee Kotaska Sat. June 14 at the History Center Basic Beading 10 to 11:30 a.m. Fee: $20 learn about basic beading tools, wire and beads and the basic stringing techniques for making jewelry. Wire Wrap Link Beading 12:30 to 2:30 Fee: $25 Learn the decorative wire wrap technique to create unique jewelry. Take both classes for $40 save $5 Both classes $10 material fee to make a bracelet and a pair of earrings in each class. Tae-Kwon-Do with Ben Keller Mondays in the History Center Conference Room 4 to 6 p.m. Call 1-763-639-8860 for more information. Just for Kix dance classes with Jami Kneifels Tuesdays 3 to 9:30 p.m. in the History Center Conference Room. Several levels and age groups throughout the afternoon and evening. Call 1-800-450-3262 for more information. In session Sept through April. The Round Dancers Sundays in the Coin School learn the dances like the Fox Trot, Tango etc. Call 320-679-3967 to find out more meet Fall & Winter.
